Meaghan began this practice on a core belief: true healing is rooted in establishing emotional safety and meaningful connection with clients. With this foundation of safety and connection, we can then utilize all available tools to guide clients toward a path of feeling better.
Meaghan holds a degree in Philosophy and English Literature from Saint Francis Xavier University. She completed her professional training at the Ontario College of Psychotherapy and Counselling in Toronto, Ontario. Her Master’s Concentration focused on Existential Psychology and its therapeutic applications, an area that continues to shape her professional approach. She is committed to ongoing learning, evidenced by certifications as an MCBT Facilitator, Trauma-Informed Addictions Counsellor, and Somatic Therapy Practitioner. She also holds a Supervision Certification and is currently expanding her research on Meaning and Purpose.
With over 12 years of experience in the field, she understands that what we struggle with are often symptoms of deeper, underlying wounds that require patience and time to understand.
Meaghan believes that even in life’s most challenging moments, there is a path toward meaning and a fundamental reason to keep going. She utilizes a deeply integrated approach, thoughtfully drawing from her entire toolkit to ensure every individual receives the specific support they need. Her practice is rooted in the depth of Psychodynamic and Existential principles, balanced with the grounded, restorative practices of Mindfulness and Somatic work.
Above all, Meaghan’s work is anchored in emotional safety. While she draws on various modalities to help clients uncover the innate answers they already carry, she never moves faster than the client’s sense of security allows. Her role is to work alongside individuals as a steady collaborator, helping them move beyond simple coping toward a life of genuine purpose and insight.
I initially studied literature and philosophy, and this background inspires my practice, which is rooted in the curiosity of why some emotional wounds persist, despite comfort or time. I was struck by the cultural expectation that physical pain deserves a doctor, but feelings of isolation, panic, or sadness must be handled alone. I wanted to understand how we heal what we can’t see so to make a long story short I begin my rigorous five-year training at the Ontario College of Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2011. I committed to my own individual therapy—a process that helped me connect to my authentic self and now grounds my work with clients. I’m still amazed by the power we have to make each other feel better through connection. Outside of my practice, I maintain balance by finding joy in the everyday; I believe laughter is the only cure to grief and find deep grounding in natural spaces, like running on the beach on a gloomy day with my dog, practicing the art of seeing the light in the dark.
